Deliver excellent services, river board staff told
BINTULU: The Sarawak Rivers Board (SRB) personnel have been urged to cope with the people’s high hopes and expectations and to deliver excellent services at all times.
Its chairman Dr Stephen Rundi Utom said since it is an honour to serve, SRB personnel must be prepared to sacrifice in terms of their work scope to ensure the board continues to play a significant role in river management.
He was speaking at the ‘Malam Mesra dan Silaturahim Gawai Dayak 2009’ organised by SRB Regional III at the Regency Plaza Hotel here recently.
Dr Rundi also called on the SRB personnel to change their usual culture of work and be more efficient.
“Commitment and passion for the job are good values to improve the quality and service delivery,” said Dr Rundi.
“When you are approached by the public asking for help regardless of whether the issues are related to our board jurisdiction or not, try to give the best answers, explanation or solutions,” he said.
Earlier, SRB Regional III Miri assistant controller Nasri Rasad said to enable them to carry out their duties effectively, they need to have some cordiality among them.
