Don’t allow opposition to gain power
They have no knowledge, understanding and even refused to acknowledge devt carried out by S’wak govt: Jabu
BINTULU: The multi-ethnic communities in Sarawak particularly the Dayaks are civilised and living in peace and harmony with each other, and not otherwise as claimed by certain people in the opposition.
Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Alfred Jabu said the opposition has no knowledge and understanding and even refused to acknowledge development implemented by the government in Sarawak.
“The Democratic Action Party (DAP), Parti Islam SeMalaysia (PAS) and Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) only know how to criticise us.
“Even the tradition of Dayaks using ‘cawat’ was also criticised by PAS.
“Its president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang’s ideas about us were just his imagination,” said the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) deputy president when officiating at PBB Kemena branch triennial general meeting at Li Hua Hotel recently.
Jabu who is also Minister of Infrastructure Development and Communications and Rural Development Minister said Sarawakians should not allow the opposition to gain power because their political ideologies were not really suitable for the people here, and besides they have no respect for local cultures.
“They speak out their minds not based on facts, but from their wild imagination,” said Jabu, adding that their presence here only created chaos and uncertainty.
Therefore, he urged all BN component parties to be strong and cooperate with each other for the development of knowledgeable and
trained human capital to meet the demands of Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE) and to eradicate rural poverty.
To him, politics must be focused mainly on closing any rural-urban development gap.
